Beberapa bulan lalu,Codemaster telah mengumumkan penundaan waktu rilis DiRT 2 versi PC. Bukan hanya untuk menambahkan dukungan directX 11, namun juga untuk membuatnya menjadi game balap terbaik yang pernah ada.
Awalnya, DiRT 2 dijadwalkan rilis pada bulan Sepember 2009. Namun, karena ingin meningkatkan kualitas grafis dengan dukungan directX 11, versi pc game tersebut pun terpaksa ditunda.
Ralph Fulton, sebagai Videogamer Design Manager melalui sebuah wawancara memaparkan alasan lain mengapa DiRT 2 ditunda kemunculannya.
"Kami sudah memutuskan untuk menunda game ini karena ingin menggunakan direct 11, namun bukan hanya itu saja. Dengan teknologi yang kami miliki DiRT 2 akan menjadi game balap dengan grafis terbaik yang pernah ada," jelasnya
Dari segelintir video ataupun screenshot yang telah beredar, memang penampilan DiRT 2 sangat menjanjikan. Baik tampilan lingkungan, mobil bahkan sampai derungan mesin digarap dengan sangat baik.
